The Idiot Son of a President

I’m talking about George W. Bush. I’m surprised that they let him out in public without his handlers because this one proves he had absolutely no right to be President of the United States:

What astounds me even more is that the private contractors are operating above the law. If they pulled the same crap here in the United States at least criminal law pretty much spells out what they can and cannot do in most jurisdictions. But in Iraq it’s the Wild Wild West all over again.

I’d imagine that Blackwater is a registered corporation in Delwaware. Perhaps the legislators there need to act to revoke the charter of the company. But it’s been nearly impossible for a legislature to slap down a corporation for many years now since the only reason for revocation is not filing corporate forms on an annual basis.

Vintage Video – Full Force

Full Force was responsible for some very interesting stuff during the 80’s More to the point, they were the backing band for Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam as well as UTFO.

First up is Temporary Love Thing. It was the 80’s after all and lets just say that music in general had a sort of unbridled sexual theme to it.

Here’s Ain’t My Type of Hype. I feel this is the point where Full Force jumped the shark. The animated character ECROF (Nothing but Force spelled backwards). It’s also slightly New Jack in style. The drum beat is definitely sampled in lots of hip-hop.

And Friends B-4 Lovers, first of all the leetization of the word ‘before’ is interesting. You could say this is a somewhat repentant Full Force.

And then the story of betrayal in All In My Mind.

Living on a One Way Street

I live on a one way street that connects two major thruways in the city, the first being Atwells Avenue, the other being Broadway. The street heads south from Atwells.

It is used by all manor of emergency vehicles so the sirens are a pretty much constant feature.

The continuation of the street is two way traffic so it does cause some of the issues I’ve seen.

One-Way

And I’ve seen numerous fire engines and rescues come this way, even though the nearest fire station is on Atwells Avenue, west of Knight St.

So while I wonder why they go the wrong way down the street, the one that absolutely floored me is seeing a Providence Police cruiser do the very same thing today, lights on and siren blaring.

Just open it to two way traffic, that’s the solution. The road is wide enough for three cars to fit across, use one lane for parking, the other two for traffic.

This one explains it all

This video featuring Candace Bergen and Gilda Radner is perfect for explaining the electorate in the United States. We have to be stupid because we allowed George W. Bush to be elected president not just once, but twice.

CIA Vets challenge 09/11/01 story

This is interesting. We have several highly placed CIA officers who are now retired who in essence say that the Bush administration either had knowledge that the events of 09/11/01 were about to happen and allowed them to happen to act as a necessary easing into a state of permanent warfare, or on analyst says it was orchestrated by the administration.

Orchestrate is defined as: to arrange or combine so as to achieve a desired or maximum effect

I hope this gathers steam for if it comes out that the Bush administration had foreknowledge of this it would mean that the administration has committed treasonous acts against the United States. And the penalty for treason is swift and severe. Who need s impeachment.

South Florida Gay Rights

This time it happened in Broward County in Florida. The last asshat we heard from was in Dade county Florida. And karma has had its way with Anita Bryant. Suck an orange bitch, or maybe a cream pie in the face.

Anyhow this time around it appears a local gay couple in Miami have had enough. It started with hearing a biblical quote being read over the public address system at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport on their return home one late night. The skycap has been terminated but this galvanized the couple into action.

What I find unbelievable is the number of people who’ll tell them to their face that they’re second class citizens. This quote really saddens me.

”The next day I was at the gym,” Hudson said. ‘A large-size note that had `fag’ scrawled across it was stuck in my windshield. At that point I started to take side roads going home. It was a weird way to live. A few days later, a woman came up to me and spit in my face in the grocery store, with her 6-year-old son in hand. I said to her, ‘What a great lesson to teach your son.’ ”

Mr. Hudson definitely took the high road on the latter episode. I’m only half Italian but I have the temper. Let a similar episode happen to me and all bets are off. Woman or not, I’d have punched her lights out. An assault for an assault. Well, not technically. There is a difference between assault and battery. Assault is the creation of a fear of immediate harm, while battery would be the actual act of spitting in someones face, or punching said bitches lights out.

I know what motivates the haters. It’s religion. I know this because my dad is a born again Christian and some of the things he spews out irk the crap out of me. Of course he knows all about me and my life and not being able to resist a challenge like that, I’ll usually explain to him that his biblical understand is sub-par. Tell him it doesn’t count when someone reads it to you, you have to read it yourself.

He’d be one of those people spitting in the guys faces. He signed the petition to ban gay marriage in Florida, so should I expect anything different?

This is why religion is evil. Or I should say, this is why the monotheistic abrahamic religions are evil. When is the last time you heard of a Buddhist attacking people?

Anyhow, here is an uplifting video. Anita Bryant getting a fruit pie in the face. Pray lady pray.

The Privatization of Government

I was just trolling around YouTube and found a Democracy Now video of Jeremy Scahill author of “Blackwater”.

Mr. Scahill understands the danger of privatizing government. I’ve posted before about Grover Norquist and his wanting to destroy the federal government. The current occupants of the White House want not only to do that, but to replace it with total corporate control.

Think for a moment what that would mean. Every day we see increasing reaches by corporations. Read your cell phone agreement for instance, I guarantee that part of what you agreed to was a thing called arbitration. Arbitration uses private parties that are favorable towards the corporations to resolve disputes. You are contractually denied usage of the court system in the U.S. when settling disputes with telecom carriers and even credit card issuers.

Then of course there is the document that George W. Bush calls “A god damned piece of paper…”, the United States Constitution and the Bill of Rights. With no federal government that evaporates. No free speech, no freedom from unwarranted searches and seizures, no more right to plead nolo contendre, etc. Think about it.

And regarding Blackwater, they’re owned by the Prince family. These are people who are being given billions to spread their neo-Christian views.

So if you wonder why I’m so vociferous about the dangers of the Christian-military-industrial complex, you know. Just read the PNAC documents and you’ll see exactly what they’re trying to do. I for one do not want to live under the thumb of corporation, nor do I want to live under a theocracy.

These quotes in particular demonstrate the point:

Capitalism is the astounding belief that the most wickedest of men will do the most wickedest of things for the greatest good of everyone.
~ John Maynard Keynes

Keynes for those who haven’t had any economics courses, was part of FDR’s circle of advisors. His policies helped lift us out of the depression, and he gave FDR a healthy dose of cynicism regarding big business. Of course big business fought back and most of the reforms that FDR put into place were rescinded. But look around some day and see the good that the Works Progress Administration did.

And

Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired, signifies in the final sense a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed.
Dwight D. Eisenhower

Yes, Ike warned us what was going to happen but he did so on his way out of office. I give him credit though, at least he said something. Today we have people like Colin Powell, who completely disgraced himself in front of the United Nations to push a false pretext for war. I remember watching the speeches that Powell gave and it was clear he was uncomfortable. Yet he could have been a true American hero instead of a relatively obscure player ground up into little bits by the Bush administration.

Part 1, ignore the blogspam at the end if you wish.

Part 2

Today’s “If God meant us to be naked we’d have been born that way!” Idiot!

First off I’m not sure how to categorize this one. Wait, wait, prudes. There we go. I’ve been told I’m a bit prudish but what they really don’t know is my public persona and private persona are two different things.

Anyhow this guy rambles on about the fact that more than 80% of a womans skin is exposed while wearing a bikini. He’s like the Taliban in the United States. And what about we men. Should we wish we can though not all of us should, wear the tiniest little thong and hit the beach. There’s definitely more than 80% skin showing there. But Mr. Blais doesn’t see that side of the argument.

I think we ought to give Mr. Blais the Ludovico treatment from A Clockwork Orange for Mr. Blais but with a slight twist. Just expose him to hours and hours of lesbian porn while propping his eyes open so he doesn’t miss a second and shooting him up with drugs that make him euphoric. Maybe check for tumescence because I get the feeling that Mr. Blais is probably suffering from ED which would explain his attitude that he has to police the beaches and be the enforcer of morality.

But wait for it, the answer comes at the end of the letter. Seems Mr. Blais has drunk the kool-aid.

Anyhow you can now peruse the Letter to the Editor that he wrote. I’d link it but the local rag, the Providence Journal requires registration and the BugMeNot extension doesn’t work with it.

The bikini should be considered indecent exposure: They are more than 80 percent nudity.

My wife and I recently returned from Narragansett, where we camp during the summer, and we usually walk on one of several beaches daily. We usually go after 4 p.m., when people begin to leave because the beach facilities prepare to close at 6 p.m. Even at that time of day we are exposed to the multitude of women of a variety of sizes in their bikinis.

What is the purpose of a bikini? The bikini apparently legally covers the essentials, while every thing else hangs; the bikini apparently allows some of the women to express their sexuality. The beaches and their bikinis have become a nudist colony.

The bikini in today’s culture is probably rated PG-13, and should be rated R.

I believe that many women like expressing their sexuality — like the attention, like being exploited, like seducing, like to be provocative and to cause lust. The bottom line of this is low self-esteem. The bikini gives them a sense of power and control.

The bikini is the front-runner; there are other everyday styles that are morally unacceptable. These cultural styles are infiltrating the church; it is shameful and disrespectful. We have become “de-sen-si-tized” (dead in conscience and scruples). We should be dressing appropriately in a church context!

We no longer seem to know the difference between moral and immoral, shameful and shameless, decent and indecent; we are becoming a Sodom and Gomorrah society! We are doomed for physical and spiritual disaster unless our state governments start implementing moral changes in public places, and we as a society begin to repent.

Vintage Video – Joan Jett

Here’s this weeks installment of Vintage Video, Joan Jett. You’ll note that the main theme of Vintage Video seems to be guitar heavy. I like it like that.

Here she is telling us she doesn’t give a damn about her Bad Reputation. More to the point, this is her “Fuck You” moment to the recording industry. Gotta love a girl with moxy.

Followed up by the anthem I Love Rock and Roll. This is the track that first turned me on to Joan Jett and The Blackhearts. The guitar is simply fucking awesome.

And here she is singing “I Hate Myself for Loving You”. Again, good chords, etc.

And just for Onanite talking about the lesbians drooling, here’s Joan’s appearance on the Ellen Degeneres show. When the camera panned out to the audience it was ALL women. You can’t tell me that the dyke quotient wasn’t rather high THAT day.

Next week we’ll switch it up a little bit with a band from the 80’s called Full Force.

A new music site

I just discovered the new Pandora.

It’s awesome, even better than last.fm if you want to listen to music. First of all no custom player, just a web interface but it’s flash based.

First all, it’s music recommendation. I keyed in The Brothers Johnson and I just heard Ray Parker’s “Jack and Jill” Wild shit, and right now it’s the Gap Band with “Steppin”. I’m totally loving this.

Check it out.

It gets better, it even knows about the original Full Force. Oh glory be!
