This is a great rebuttal to the naysayers about universal health care, or even having a public option for real reform.
The U.S. system rocks for emergency medicine. It should. After all, with as many wars as we’ve fought we should know how to stanch bleeding, and to stabilize and revive people. Because a good chunk of our emergency and trauma medicine comes right from military medicine.
But we absolutely suck at preventative care and management of chronic conditions.
