Strawberry Granita

Got the recipe from Foodwishes on YouTube:

2lbs Strawberries with stems and leave removed.
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
A pinch of salt
A few drops of balsamic vinegar
A few drops of lemon juice

Combine in blender and pulse until completely smooth.

N.B. When it comes to blenders the cheapies generally work maybe once or twice before giving up the ghost. I finally hit on one that works for me. It’s a Hamilton Beach WaveStation

Let me tell you – I’ve abused this one and it still works. So it comes with my seal of approval plus it’s $25. So you can get cheap and right.

Put it in a shallow pan and into a freezer for 40 minutes, take it out and using a fork pull the more frozen sides into the center

Then back into the freezer for 30 minutes, repeat fork procedure and place back in freezer.

Wait another 30 minutes and then give it a good scrape. It’s ready to serve.

Full of strawberry flavor. And fairly low calorie, makes about 6 to 8 servings.
