About time – a judge has struck down their ban on gay marriage.
More interesting from the article is this:
“Seventeen states and the District of Columbia issue licenses for same-sex marriage. Since December, bans on gay marriage have been overturned in Texas, Utah, Oklahoma and Virginia, but appeals have put those cases on hold.””Seventeen states and the District of Columbia issue licenses for same-sex marriage. Now as far as Texas, Utah, Oklahoma and Virginia I’m pretty sure the bigots are going to lose at appeal too. So technically speaking there are 22 states with marriage equality now. Never thought I’d see the day.
It is splendid news – I could get married now in my home state and all the relatives gathered.
Yup – I think we’ve reached the tipping point in that th bigots arguments don’t hold any legal value any longer.
It’s what comes of all your arguments coming from a musty old text.
Oops, it’s in repeal now. I should have seen that coming….
The problem with the repeal process is that couples have ALREADY married in Michigan. That’s going to make it mighty difficult for the appeals court to see the alleged harms to the bigots.
