Just like smoke detector batteries, water filters should be changed quarterly too

Just for case in point, we’re known to have one of the better public water supplies in the country. But recently they’ve been sending out flyers about lead content in our water. So for some time now I’ve been filtering the kitchen tap because it takes out chlorine byproducts, lead, etc.

But just for case of illustration take a look here. The filter on the left is just two months old. The one on the right is a new one.

Note how gunky that filter on the left looks. So the filter is doing its job. Unlike the Pur water filter we had in the past – the cartridges aren’t encased. Fascinating isn’t it.
