Recently purchased a CrockPot slow cooker. And the first run i thoroughly cleaned the crock and lid. Then 2.5lbs of chunks of chuck beef, 3 celery stalks sliced, 3 carrots sliced, 2 onions chopped, minced garlic, 6 potatoes quartered, two 14.5 ounce cans of beef stock, and a dash of Worcestershire sauce. Into the pot on low for 8 hours.
Around 6 hours in i noted the liquid was not thickened. So cut 4tbsp of butter and butter and same amount of flour and made a roux then stirred that in. Thickened the liquid nicely.
It was delicious. So much so that someone had a second serving. What can I say chuck beef on low and slow works.
