A Homophobe Strikes

Recently I posted a short entry about the AFA’s insistence that good Christians keep their kids home from school on the National Day of Silence.

When I think about it, that’s exactly what the Christofascisti would prefer. Kids that are ignorant and obedient. Look at the Phelps clan as a microcosm of this type of society.

Recently it may have come to your attention that I approved a comment by a homophobe. I did this to expose the core of belief of the homophobes.

There should be no surprise it’s religion, after all did tell me that I was going to hell. What this particular homophobe doesn’t get is that I’m not going to back down. I’m going to call him what he is, a homophobe and religious hypocrite. Why hypocrite? In the first case it is not his to judge. From John 8:7 – Let he who is without sin shall cast the first stone.

I just bet he’s basing his hatred of gay people on Leviticus. But does he take one moment to read the rest of that book? Of course he didn’t because had he done so he would have found that eating shellfish, sleeping with ones wife while she is unclean, etc. are all abominations in the eyes of his alleged god.

It is my opinion that all the Semitic/Monotheistic religions exist to suppress the rights of people, be they women, gay men and women or the like. In order for the monotheistic religions to exist they must focus on the concept of the other. They must also hate this other, or at least try to convert the other.

This other won’t be converted. I started out as Christian, a Catholic no less. Yes, a papist bastard. However at a rather early age I realized it was all bullshit. I do give some props to the authors of the New Testament books though, with the exception of St. Thomas Aquinas, that homophobic asshole. The basic principle is one of love and harmony, about the many before the one. Over the past century or so the Christians have gotten this so wrong that it isn’t funny. They allowed a few pastors with agendas to infiltrate their ranks and this is what we have as a result.

I do realize that CenturyTel is smack dab in the middle of the bible belt, but won’t he be surprised when he dies and realizes that this is the only chance he gets. Except he won’t realize it. As I like to say, you die, you’re dead, that’s it. You get one chance to get it right, to love thy neighbor as thyself.

While you’re at it, keep your religion to yourself. I don’t want to hear it, nor do I see any value in it.

Yes, I’m one of those godless homosexuals who’d like to see religion driven back into the woodwork.

Corporate Fraud and Greed – End it Now!

Rolling Stone has a very interesting article on the excesses of fraud and waste in the Iraq war.

What is happening to the United States is that corporations are looting the federal government. Grover Norquist eat your heart out, your fondest desire might actually be coming true but the consequences will be very bad for everyone. For corporations should never be in the business of providing government services. We’re seeing that push here in Rhode Island, our Republican governor who is also a Bush supporter wants to privatize just 1,000 state jobs. That’s the camel poking its nose into the tent.

How did corporations get so bold? It’s simple, under a fictional legal theory, little more than a comment inserted by a clerk who was paid by the Southern Pacific Railroad, corporations are under the mistaken notion that they have the same rights and privileges as a real person. They should have no such thing, for if they did not they wouldn’t be able to throw money to congress via PAC’s and other vehicles for corporate malfeasance like no bid contracts.

I interviewed with one firm mentioned in the article, Custer-Battles. First, I knew about the shell companies and had alarm bells ringing like crazy in my head. They had advertised the job as full time but when I had gotten to the car after the interview Battles calls and asks if I’d do contracting. I told him to kiss my ass. Turns out my alarm bells over Custer-Battles were correct but get this, even though they had a judgment against them, it was overturned by a Bush friendly jurist at the appellate level. How’s that for disgusting, I know they’re dirty, everyone knows but the courts that are supposed to protect us instead protect corporations that are defrauding the government and therefore the taxpayer for billions.

Consider the $544 Billion dollars spent in Iraq so far. Had we not gone there that $544 Billion might have helped victims of Katrina and maybe, just maybe, we could have a single payer health system in the United States.

I’ve said it before and I’ll keep saying it until it happens. We MUST change the 14th Amendment of the Constitution to specifically EXCLUDE corporations from the rights derived by that amendment.

How to do that is the conundrum. We cannot depend on our representatives since every single one of them has been bought and paid for many times over.

We’ve all seen how that works. We now have bankruptcy law that benefits the creditors rather than the debtors. We also have corporations like Verizon et al trying their damnedest to kill net neutrality, or the RIAA who won’t adapt to the times, instead they prefer to litigate their way through. Those are just three examples but I’m sure you can think of more, like maybe the oil and gas companies who reap obscene profits while we pay dearly at the pump. Just keep thinking about all the little ways corporations try to screw you and you should be getting very upset. Good, that’s precisely the kind of thing that moves our society forward.

We must lift ourselves into the fray and create a true opposition party that is funded by the people, and not by corporate interests. We have to start locally because constitutional amendments require ratification by the states, so start there and move onward. Howard Dean hit on this briefly when he had several million people chipping in $25 here and there to elect him as the Democratic President. It has to be grassroots and it will take time, I can only hope that it takes as short a time as possible to stop this craziness once and for all.

It’s Happening Again!

So Friday night one of Keyron’s ‘friend’ Rosie shows up at the door. She tells him that she needs to stay the night, will be out by Saturday, etc.

Here’s the thing, I’m a phenomenal judge of people. It’s a skill I’ve honed over the years but I can detect bullshit from miles away, as I mentioned in my posts about the other incident involving Charles. But I constantly downplay it because I would like to give people the benefit of the doubt. As of right now, that all ends.

When Rosie came here Friday night, she had boxes, all her clothes, pots and pans, etc. She had been staying in an extended-stay suite but I guess the money ran out. Supposedly she has money but is a victim of identity theft and the bank has frozen all her assets. I call bullshit here because I know banks will advance provisional funds while they make changes to protect the assets. I’ve had it happen to me, that’s how I know.

I also know a police report would have to be filed and my little birdie at the local PD tells me no such report exists. Coupled with what I mentioned about bank procedures this tells me our house guest is a target of an investigation or action of some sort either by police or taxing authorities.

Anyhow her promise to be out by Saturday never materialized, instead she was out partying all day and night. She told Keyron that she’d be leaving sometime after noon today. I love open ended bullshit like that.

In essence, she’s a pathological liar. She makes such grand pronouncements such as “I have a Doctorate in Theology” yet she can’t explain Christian or other dogma. Then of course there’s the money thing, it assumes that the money actually exists. After all she walked away from a number of jobs that made her a nice sum.

Keyron has to go to an all day event so I’m here with Rosie. Luckily one half of the place seals off from the other half so I don’t have to even see the woman at all. But I did tell Keyron to mark my words, that she’d be sleeping here tonight.

Why us? I think moving into a three bedroom apartment set us up for it. The mentally unbalanced figure that we’ve got the extra room and won’t mind.

They obviously don’t know me. I get very territorial when my space gets invaded. But when I walk into my bathroom and there are mildewed bath matts on the floor, her shit all over the vanity, and bathwater still in the tub that pretty much does it for me.

And the thing that irks me more is she knows I can see through the bullshit. She thinks she’s better and smarter than everyone else. She’s only black when she wants to be, otherwise she’s Cape Verdean. Honey, you’re black. Get over it.

Before Keyron left this morning he talked to her and she says she’ll be out today. He just called me and I told him that I’ll give it today but if she isn’t out today, tomorrow things get unmistakably hostile up to and including her shit on the sidewalk and the doors locked.

UPDATE: She’s been moving her stuff out. Hallelujah!

Re-UPDATE: I had said that by 6PM if she didn’t have her stuff moved out then I’d be locking the doors and putting her stuff out. It is now 7:45PM and the door is locked. I’m just to lazy to drag her shit outside. Of course she’s been out galavanting all day, playing at the Puerto Rican festival. If she can’t prioritize her life I’m going to do it for her.

So at 8:25PM I locked the front door, slipped the ear buds in and shuffled my playlist. Apparently she stopped by and rang the doorbell at approximately 8:45PM. Then she suddenly finds the phone number and calls says she’ll be by in 15 minutes. She showed. Imagine that.
