Rest in Peace Dorothy Pelliccio

At 10:15PM on 12/25/2005 Dorothy Pelliccio departed the corporeal world.

She was probably the biggest influence on my attitudes. Old Dorothy was known to say “Fuck em’ all” and was never one to mask her feelings about someone or something.

But she was a class act all the way.

I suppose having been born just before the Great Depression she came equipped with an attitude that ensured her life would be full and plentiful.

But isn’t it funny, particularly in the case of old Italian women that they tend to time their death to coincide with some major event or holiday.

Is it the Pope or Emperor Palpatine?

Honestly this guy looks like the embodiment of evil, the anti-Christ so to speak.

Ok, so I got what I pretty much needed most for Christmas. Clothes. You see, I’m not the type that finds shopping for clothing exciting. To me clothes only serve the function of keeping one warm, cool, or unexposed in most social situations. If you remember the 80’s release of the movie “The Fly”? I’m of the Dr. Seth Brundle school of wardrobe management. That appeals to me as I’d rather use my mind to think about other things.

So it’s up to Keyron to steer me in the right direction when it comes to clothing. Here I am just chillin’ listenin’ to “Grown Folks Music” under the R&B heading on AOL music, whilst creating a database.

Christmas – Why can’t it be simpler?

Over the past few years I’ve found that holidays in this household are less intimate events and more community events. While I enjoy the company I lament that holidays have become more like work.

Had I known it would be like this I would have had kids.

But it’ll be ok so long as the alcohol flows freely and liberaly.

What’s on the menu:

Ham
Potato Salad – Southern Style (ala Keyron)
Mixed Greens with corn dumplings
Baked Beans
Baked Stuffed Shrimp
Maple Carrots

Fortunately I’ve spent less on this meal than I did for Thanksgiving.

But the biggest lament is this. People can no longer afford to buy me the Christmas presents I want. My hobbies are just far too expensive.

Ah – the golden day has arrived. I’ve been wanting a new computer for quite some time. But cash was short enough for a while that I didn’t do it.

Recently I was engaged to do a contract that netted enough cash to go out and get myself a new machine. How I love this little box – tons of bells and whistles. The favorite of which is the wireless connectivity. At the moment I’m using someone elses wireless network and that trods into nebulous legal territory. I feel that if I’m not downloading kiddie porn, no harm or foul is done.

And I need to call Cox. This wireless link is much faster than my wired PC’s on Cox’s network.

Mmmm… making Sausage and Potatoes for the get together tomorrow night.

Nothing but potatoes, garlic, sweet Italian sausage, evoo, salt and pepper. Delicious. The aroma is what got me appointed to make the dish for the party. From now on I won’t let on that I’m a foodie.
