Now NOM is pissed at Republicans

Check this one out – apparently they’re still trying to beat the hate drum. What the hell is with the powers at NOM? I’d love to see their current budget as I just bet they’re seeing a drop in contributions. But now they’re getting nervous about the cake war. I think they’re going to lose to be honest. I mean really – as a business owner isn’t your FIRST responsibility to make as much money as you can?

And as always I’ve stripped their links and put donates to pro-gay sites.

TUESDAY, JULY 18, 2017

The entire Republican Party owes their electoral success to people of faith, individuals like us who turned out in droves to oppose the leftist agenda of the Democrats and Hillary Clinton. The Democrats demand complete loyalty to their extreme agenda – same-sex ‘marriage,’ abortion on demand, transgender ideology, virtual elimination of religious liberty, etc. In rejecting the extreme agenda of the left and Democratic leaders, people of faith put their trust in Republicans who said they would deliver on their promises and defend American values.

From Donald J. Trump, to the members of the US Senate, to the members of the House of Representatives, Republican elected officials owe their majority to people of faith, the bedrock base of the Republican Party.

But so far, outside of Neil Gorsuch on the Supreme Court, the Republicans have precious little to show in terms of delivering on their promises.

Worse, late last week, some 23 GOP members of the US House of Representatives opposed an amendment to the defense spending authorization bill to prevent the use of taxpayer funds to pay for sex-change surgeries from transgendered soldiers.

Are these 23 Republicans clueless or, worse, are they traitors to the conservative cause?

First off, the science is clear that there is absolutely no evidence to show that someone can be “trapped in the wrong body.” Those who think they are “transgender” actually suffer from a psychological disorder known as gender dysphoria.

Moreover, why in the world should US taxpayers be given the bill because a gender-confused individual joins the military and then demands a sex-change operation? It’s insane!

And what’s really problematic is that the GOP leadership in the House, including Speaker Paul Ryan and Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, did absolutely nothing to prevent this travesty and betrayal of trust.

If the Republican leadership in Washington does not get their act together soon and begin delivering on their promises to restore American values like marriage and life, they are going to be in for a rude awakening come the 2018 midterm elections. Why would people of faith turn out to vote for incumbent Republicans who do nothing, or worse, betray us?

NOM intends to hold the Republican majority in the House and the Senate accountable for their actions, and the Trump administration as well. We have a detailed plan to do so, but we need your help to be successful.

Will you stand with us and help us with a financial contribution so we have the resources to hold the GOP accountable and fight for the rights of all marriage supporters?

HERE IS OUR PLAN:

  1. Conduct a strong public education campaign supporting NOM’s legal team as we prepare to file amicus briefs with the US Supreme Court in the Masterpiece Cakeshop case, which holds the potential of achieving a sweeping Court ruling preventing government from targeting people for punishment because they hold fast to the natural, biblical understanding of marriage as one man and one woman…
  2. Hold the Republicans in Congress accountable, including demanding they introduce and move forward with the First Amendment Defense Act to provide protections for people of faith, and demand that GOP members feel the heat when they abandon us to vote for “transgender surgeries” and other policies that violate our values and defy common-sense. (See our petition below.)
  3. Organize tens of thousands of Americans to contact Attorney General Jeff Sessions to demand that the Trump administration move forward with a long-promised Executive Order to protect individuals, pastors, churches and nonprofit groups who believe in traditional marriage from punitive actions against them by the government.
  4. Highlight the utter hate that many on the left have for people who remain firm in their belief that marriage is as God created it – one man and one woman. This includes formally launching our First Freedom Initiative which, among other things, will highlight the animus and dangerous tactics of groups like the Southern Poverty Law Center and the grossly-misnamed Human Rights Campaign.

Combined, these four priorities form the backbone of NOM’s work this summer to protect marriage supporters. But to be successful on any one of these undertakings, let alone our full agenda, we need the strong support of every NOM supporter. Will you be with us?

Let them Eat Cake (NOM’s response)

Oh my – got this recent missive in my email from old Pumpkin Face Brian Brown. Look – it’s pretty certain that Mr. Jack Phillips isn’t a good businessman. Why? Because he hasn’t realized that those little green pieces of paper or increasingly electronic bits are good to have no matter who they come from.

And his contention that he gets involved – bake the cake, deliver it, set it up and go. You don’t need to approve of the wedding participants. And I gotta wonder, how is NOM hitting it’s budget numbers? Because it appears to me that Brian Brown is nothing but a bigot with no other useful skills. And I stripped out all the donate links and re-linked them to HRC, and Ali Forney Center and the like. Why give money to the bigots, but give it to supportive orgs instead.

With Neil Gorsuch now on the US Supreme Court, as one of its last acts of the current term the Supreme Court decided to accept the case of Masterpiece Cakeshop v Colorado Civil Rights Commission, a critical case that highlights the growing problem of supporters of marriage being discriminated against by government and targeted for harassment and punitive punishment in violation of our constitutional rights.

Jack Phillips is the owner of Masterpiece Cakeshop, a skilled baker and cake artisan, and a devout Christian. He runs a family business that has thrived in Lakeland, Colorado for nearly 25 years. He’s happily served all clients, and continues to sell baked goods to anyone who seeks them regardless of their religious beliefs, politics or sexual orientation. However, when it comes to applying his artistry and creativity to helping with events and ceremonies that violate his deeply held religious beliefs, he draws the line and declines to personally participate. Contributing his artistry to a gay “wedding” is such a ceremony that Jack cannot in good conscience help with. So when two homosexual men asked him to design a cake for their “wedding” he politely declined. Predictably, the men sued and some months later, after enduring an onslaught of abuse from LGBT activists and a raft of negative publicity, the Colorado Civil Rights Commission determined that Jack was guilty of sexual orientation discrimination, ordered him and his staff to design cakes for gay ceremonies, and further ordered him to undergo a “re-education” program along with filing quarterly “compliance” reports.

NOM is determined to end this type of targeting of people who hold true to the reality that marriage is and always will be the union of one man and one woman. Will you stand with us and help us with a financial contribution so we have the resources to argue for the rights of Jack Phillips and all marriage supporters?

It’s outrageous that not only can LGBT extremists get the judicial elite to impose gay “marriage” on the nation, but that they can get their allies in government to punish anyone who disagrees and refuses to go along with the charade that marriage is anything other than the union of one man and one woman.

Sadly, Jack Phillips is far from the only one who has been subjected to governmental persecution, reputational ruin and the threat of being financially devastated. Countless others have also been targeted by LGBT extremists and their allies in government.

We are going to do everything in our power to put a stop to this, and make this the summer when marriage supporters are protected.

HERE IS OUR PLAN:

  1. Conduct a strong public education campaign supporting NOM’s legal team as we prepare to file amicus briefs with the US Supreme Court in the Masterpiece Cakeshop case. The justices of the Supreme Court need to understand the devastation that their ruling redefining marriage has wreaked on the nation.
  2. Working with allies, organize tens of thousands of Americans to contact Attorney General Jeff Sessions to demand that the Trump administration move forward with a long-promised Executive Order to protect individuals, pastors, churches and nonprofit groups who believe in traditional marriage from punitive actions against them by the government.
  3. Work with key champions in Congress, including Sen. Mike Lee and Rep. Raul Labrador, to reintroduce the First Amendment Defense Act to make permanent the types of protections that would be contained in an Executive Order and a victory before the Supreme Court. President Trump has already endorsed this type of legislation, but it has not yet been introduced into Congress.
  4. As part of the public education campaign, we must highlight the utter hate that many on the left have for people who remain firm in their belief that marriage is as God created it – one man and one woman.

Our team is already hard at work doing the heavy lifting that is required to be successful. We’re preparing additional educational videos and informational pieces, getting ready to launch more petitions to engage Americans, putting the final touches on new policy positions that allied groups can endorse and help us present to Congress and the Trump administration, and conducting rigorous legal research on how and why the constitution protects the rights of people of faith to decline to be involved in something that violates their deeply held beliefs.

All that is required now is your financial support so that we have the resources we need to complete the work that is so important and that can make such a difference, not only for those who are facing persecution like Jack Phillips, but for millions of others who are at risk in the future. Please give generously at this important time.

Thank you for all that you are doing to help us restore marriage and protect marriage supporters.

Faithfully,

Brian S Brown

Modifying Tony Perkins Bobble Head

So this showed up on another blog I visit – Joe My God

It’s a Tony Perkins bobble head – now if you’re not familiar Perkins is the bigot at the FRC whose background includes being reserve law enforcement, the Marines, etc. How he got to be an authority on family is beyond my imagination. Anyhow here’s the original pic that was posted on Joe My God:

ImageNow elsewhere in the post someone had mentioned it was missing a KKK hood. So I surfed the net, found a hood, re-sized it a bit smaller and came up with this:

Image

Didn’t even both to tailor it – I wanted it to look like a mask of sorts. Couldn’t have done it better. Perkins is a Grand Bigot. And he should be wearing the hood.

So I was right: The Anti-Gay laws in Russia were spawned by U.S. Evangelicals

If there’s one sect or strain of Christianity I dislike most it’s Evangelicalism. It’s because Evangelicals try very hard to merge government and religion to the detriment of us all, most specifically the LGBT community.

So it came as no surprise that i read this. It’s about the World Congress of Families which is most active in none other than Russia. But we can see direct offshoots of this in Uganda and Nigeria too. It’s all Evangelical horse shit being spread around the globe and here at home.

But the article links U.S. Evangelical organizations like Focus on the Family, the National Organisation for Marriage, the Russian Orthodox church and whole bunch more. They even mention Brian Brown – the head of NOM who has traveled to Russia and given his dog and pony show.

The article goes on to explain how in Russia they’re saying that marriage and birth rates are WAY down. Of course the bigots won’t step back and take a look at why that’s the case. Perhaps because of economic instability and the fact that Russia is essentially Plutocracy run wild. Has nothing to do with the LGBT community – instead this is just raw animus on display Evangelicals and the Russian Orthodox Church. For example did you know that the Patriarch of the Othodox church gets to vet all legislation that DUMA creates? Yup.

That’s why the bigots love Russia – church and state are intertwined. I’m so happy the U.S. Constitution despite the efforts of the Evangelical groups here in the U.S. tying their damnedest, that the Constitution here prevents them from getting their bigoted ways. Not that the bigots haven’t tried what with Prop 8, and the various legislative and constitutional bans. And most recently we have religious idiots sponsoring and passing legislation to allow people with a so called “deeply held religious belief” to discriminate against the LGBT community. Case in point is Arizona – the House and Senate have both passed the bill to allow the bigots to claim foul at the sight of any of the LGBT community. I don’t know if Governor Brewer will sign the legislation but if she does I can assure you that the lawsuits will follow and the state of Arizona will look very foolish.

Regards Arizona we could actually do something to demonstrate our ire. Just don’t buy any product or services that are made or produced in Arizona. We all need to do this, straight or gay. Let’s show our displeasure and starve Arizona of both business and state tax revenue.

Easy come, Easy Go

So I noted with some amusement my blog stats shot WAY the hell up a few days ago. My best all time was 846 views and that was on a day in April of 2010. I believe it was a post about Fringe that triggered it. This time it was February 12th with 754 views.

Well this time the post that got the attention was about a pediatrician by the name of Michelle Cretella. She’s a homophobic bigot who has both testified in front of legislators and written letters to the editor in the paper, etc. denigrated gay people in Rhode Island.

I think a lot of what propelled it was she was supposed to speak at Providence College (PC). But they rescinded the invitation.

And I noted a lot of the referrals came from shares in PC’s email system. My only tenuous connection to PC by the way is a DJ gig I did for a couple of years back in the mid 1980’s.

But alas, the enhanced stats only lasted a day or two and now we’re back to normal levels. Thanks guys!

So Brian Brown is still bitching about 10th Amendment stuff

In case you haven’t heard, the latest state to gain full marriage equality is Oklahoma! And of course once again Brian Brown, head Spokesbigot of the National Organization for Marriage (The oxymoron group!) is once again trying to make a 10th Amendment argument for the right of states to discriminate against the gay community vis a vis marriage rights.

This one is pretty brief compared to the angst he displayed on Utah or New Mexico.

Today, the National Organization for Marriage renews its call for an amendment to the U.S. Constitution to protect marriage as the union of one man and one woman. The decision by U.S District Court Judge Terence Kern in Oklahoma is the latest in a string of examples of the dangers posed to state marriage laws when the avenue of debate is the federal court system. We need firm legislative action to protect the rights of the states and their citizens to make their own determinations regarding the definition of marriage without interference from federal appointees either in the courts or within the executive branch.

Now the asshole wants a federal amendment, well he’s ALWAYS wanted that but it has a snowballs chance in hell of ever coming to fruition.

The decision by U.S District Court Judge Terence Kern in Oklahoma is the latest in a string of examples of the dangers posed to state marriage laws when the avenue of debate is the federal court system.
Old Pumpkin Face Brown really doesn’t like the Federal Judiciary. The reason Brown doesn’t like it is because he sees it as illegitimate when in nearly every instance when NOM and the other bigots have been dragged into court they’ve lost and lost badly!

We need firm legislative action to protect the rights of the states and their citizens to make their own determinations regarding the definition of marriage without interference from federal appointees either in the courts or within the executive branch.

So now the truth comes out – he doesn’t like the judiciary or the executive branches. Maybe it’s because there’s a lot more logic and thought in those two branches than in the rabble of the U.S. House and Senate.

And calling it interference is telling. Let me rephrase it for him: Brian Brown wants the will of the religiously bigoted to be the rule of law in the land. And all I can say to that is, over my dead fucking body.

Bigots in Utah just can’t catch a break

Now the tenth circuit appellate court has denied a stay on appeal. I wonder when we’re going to hear the next temper tantrum from Brian Brown?

Of course the State aka the Bigots want this considered by the U.S. Supreme Court. Justice Sonya Sotomayor handles these things for the tenth district and has the option to decide the stay herself, or to refer it to en bank.

Now knowing about Justice Sotomayor – I strongly suspect she will decided the stay herself and probably deny the stay. She’s from New York, the actual city. And I’ve seen her speeches etc. and she doesn’t strike me as a conservative justice at all.

So the bigots – I  predict that not only will they be denied a stay at the highest court – but that they will lose at the appellate level. And if the Supreme Court decides to hear the case – they likely will lose there too.

The Drunken Uncle Bryan Fischer is at it again

Homo Akbar indeed. Akbar if you’re interested was a Mughal Emperor. What Akbar  has to do with homosexuality I don’t know.

But the Drunken Uncle who has to keep saying more outrageous things in order to be heard at a party; and that is Bryan Fischer, had this to say:

Notice how the prick Fischer says that homosexual activists shut down the bakery. Again, no we did not. However Aaron Klein decided that he couldn’t stand the heat of being a bigot and shut the shop down voluntarily. The heat in this case was a state investigation because bigotry of the nature practiced by Klein is prohibited under law in Oregon.

It is interesting thought that Fischer seems to go off on increasingly incoherent rants, note above the reference to Homo Akbar, and then trying to paint the Klein’s as victims when the reality was that it was their own lack of understand of a public business and their idiotic religious beliefs that led to their ultimate demise.

And the whole god bothering to which Fischer subscribes, it’s all based on so much bovine effluent. I’ll give my standard retort here, go read Genesis Chapter 4. Then come back and explain to me where the people of Nod came from.

Sweet Cakes by Melissa is closed!

Watch the bigots try to defend their position.

Mean spirited mafia style tactics? Honey please – you want to be a bigot expect to be called out for it.

And the male half of the couple – saying that he didn’t want to be a part of a gay wedding. You aren’t part of the wedding dude, you’re just baking the fucking cake. It’s not like they asked you to be a bridesmaid or a groom, they just wanted you to combine some flour, sugar, emulsifier and fat together and bake it. And if you’re so stupid as to not know the value of a dollar, well I can’t say much else. If you own a business put your bigotry and Christianity aside and grin and bear it, because you’d be making enough cash had you not opened your bigoted mouth.

It isn’t a surprise that the backlash came – bigotry ain’t cute and it doesn’t play well now that we’re firmly into the 21st century of the common era.

Ad Hominem Never Wins (Zimmerman Comments on Washington Times)

So I’ve been having a little one armed battle of wits on Washington Times. If you read this blog you know I’m pretty left leaning liberal. And I tend to be able to see nuance in things, like how the prosecutor in the Zimmerman case left out relevant elements because they were afraid of starting a race war.

But then the comments start getting silly:

This thread tickled me:

Truthspew –> truthseeker55 7 hours ago

Wait, wait. You prayed with your kids, made sure they were involved in structured activities and yet they’re still not perfect? I wonder what went wrong.

Major –> Truthspew 7 hours ago

Because none of us are perfect you kumquat…and he accepts that as a fact of life.

Truthspew –>  Major 7 hours ago

How dare you call me a Rutaceae! And a lot of us are a whole lot more perfect because we don’t have the veiled racist attitudes that many of the comments on this post seem to display. And the notion that none of us are perfect, that’s straight out of Christian dogma.

Then there’s this thread – where the ad hominem resembles pot calling kettle black:

Truthspew –> esquire28 hours ago

Oh sure – examine no-fault divorce. Make it harder to divorce and watch the domestic violence rate increase. I’m always appalled by those who are one sided thinkers like you guys.

esquire2 –> Truthspew7 hours ago

Mr. Answer to Everything, Solution to Nothing …

Oh Bottomless Well of Ignorance, look at all your postings … all you do is criticize.

instead of finding fault with other’s proposals, why don’t you solve “a” problem?

Truthspew –> esquire27 hours ago

If you note I didn’t given the answers per se, I asked you to think about the ‘why’ in all of this. The fact that you resort to ad hominem indicates you are intellectually lazy and cannot form a proper rebuttal.

esquire2 –>  Truthspew19 minutes ago

whereas U R merely intellectually challenged.

My response for some reason disappeared – in essence I told him pot, meet kettle.
